Tips On Forming A Band

If you can play one of the music instrument such as guitar and
you are playing alone. Have you ever thought of forming a band
by gathering a few music enthusiastic who can play other types
of musical instruments?

By forming a band, you can utilise the strength of individual,
writing music and trying to promote your music. It's the
greatest feeling in the world, when someone tells you that they
like your music. Better still, a recording company interested in
your music. It is always better to start a band with a group of
friends because all will feel relax around each other and feel
more confident in your ability to be able to play your
instrument. If you haven't got a group of friends who are
willing to start a band, start to spread the word around. You
may also check out from the internet by surfing the related
website or forums. Many websites are available to you to find
musicians in your area.

A few important things to consider when forming a band

1. Determine the type of music the band is going to play (Jazz,
Pop, Blues, Countries etc) 2. Who do what? A band member may be
able to play more than one music instruments and hence, define
his or her primary responsibility. 3. Song writing can be
carried out by any of the member as long as the song written is
suitable. Usually the lead singer takes on the responsibility to
write, but don't forget any member of the band can write music
or lyrics. 4. Identify a suitable location for band member to
meet. Be considerate; do not practice during the zzz hours so as
not to cause disturbance. 5. Meet at least twice a week or even
more. Practice makes perfect, if you want to be good at
something, you have to put in the hard work. The timeframe of
these practice sessions is up to you but you will find it hard
to achieve anything for less than 2 hours a session. 6. Don't
forget to record everything in practice, so you can listen over
before every practice session and identify the areas need
improvement.

When your band is ready to perform, put on a show for your
friends and family, maybe in a large room of your home, or in
the garden. You will probably always get good feedback from your
friends and family, this should raise your confidence. But you
will only know if your music is decent when you play a
performance. Many bars / clubs have Open Mic night, this is
perfect for you. Make an effort to contact them frequently to
ask for a slot, eventually you will get one. Finding other bands
to support can also help you get a performance and will also
build a better network for your band.

It is meaningless if no one turns up at your performance? To
promote, you may hand out flyers. And it's a good idea to place
flyers in your local music shop or music instrument store, and
they can help to give them out when someone purchases something.
If possible, ask the shopkeepers to post flyers in there
windows.

One of the best ways to promote in this day is myspace. Create a
profile for your band in myspace and send out bulletins,
comments, messages about your performance. Another thing one may
consider is to build a website for your band. This will help you
to promote your band to peoples from every part of the world.
This will help to build a fan base, as you can upload your songs
to your website for everyone one to listen to.

How To Easily Build A Guitar For Your Kids To Play

Author: Jessica S

Article:
Do you have a child who wants to make his or her own guitar? You
can build a guitar for the kids to play with on a rainy day with
just a few simple materials.

Kids truly love playing with these, and they enjoy decorating
the boxes just as much. These are a great idea if you take care
of a lot of children, or babysit because the kids will stay
occupied.

Just throw some newspaper on the table and let them be creative
with the paint, markers and glue. Here's what you need:

* A shoe box * Seven or Eight Rubber bands * Some Paint * Markers

First, take the top from the shoe box, and allow the kids to
paint the box in whatever colors they want. After you let the
shoebox dry, you will build a guitar by placing the rubber bands
around the shoebox.

You want to place them around the smaller width of the box. You
should place them all the same width away from each other.

To allow the kids to further build a guitar that they will love,
you can let them glue on sparkly accessories, a length of string
so they can place the guitar around their neck, or any kind of
other decorations they want.

A great idea if you have more than one kid is to make them some
other instruments, like homemade maracas, or drums. They will
love having a band, or just playing one instrument, and you will
love the fact that they're occupied!

If you don't like this method, you can get more options at HREF=http://www.buildaguitar.net/>http://www.buildaguitar.net/>

You don't have to be a great guitar player to enjoy all the fun
of playing. Sometimes you just need to go with it and have a
good time no matter what you sound like.

The Army Band?

Allright, I know a little bit about this subject since my husband is in the military so I thought I would pass this along.

I never realized you could join the army for things like this but you can actually get a job in the army just playing an instrument! A flute, trumpet, drums, guitar, whatever you play, you can get paid to do in the Army band.

Had I known that they offered this I would have joined a long time ago. They put on concerts n' such and it's actually pretty neat from what I have seen. If you wanna check out their official website just click on the link below to find out more:... alright, I have been trying to make this an easy link to click on and I am still working on making it so, but for now, if you copy and past in your browser, it will take you there. :P sorry for the inconvenience and I will work on getting this fixed.
