A Review of the Flute, and other instruments

Allright, your child is in middle school now, right? and they want to play an expensive instrument and break your pocket book. Don't worry, there are so many more options these days when it comes to where you can find affordable....well, anything these days. The possiblities are endless!
Your child CAN play the instrument they want, you just have to know where to look.
I played the flute in school and I was pretty good. Made it to 2nd chair anyway. Learned how to play the flute in one evening. My brother was good as well and he actually was 1st chair flute.
I liked the flute a lot, and from a parents standpoint, they are one of the more low maintenance instruments, besides the drums.
This is important to know, because when I started out in band, I actually played the clarinet first. Which means if you get one, expect to buy reeds all the time because they will split, and chip just from regular wear. Also, the Clarinet I had the corks always fell off, so it was in the shop a lot, which was costly... which is why I finally gave up on the clarinet and went for the flute.
Make sure you clean it with a rag when you are done playing it to get the spit out and you will have no problems. I played mine for years and never had to take it to get fixed. My sister plays mine now, no problems, and the flute is getting pretty old now.
Where can you find an affordable flute? You can find all kinds at great prices by clicking here
